Senegal Supporters Denied U.S. Visas Ahead of World Cup

Several Senegalese supporters have been denied visas to the United States ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, ending their hopes of cheering the Teranga Lions in person.

AFP reported that the affected fans were part of an official delegation backed by Senegal’s sports ministry. Officials described the development as a major disappointment, noting that it would be the first World Cup in which Senegal would be without its traditional group of home-based supporters.

To ensure the team still enjoys backing from the stands, the Senegalese government said match tickets would be distributed to Senegalese citizens already living in the United States.
