Police Forward Ogidi Killing Case to AGF, Dismiss Officers Over Fatal Shooting

The Nigeria Police Force has forwarded the case file on the killing of 28-year-old Mene Ogidi to the Office of the Attorney General of the Federation for prosecution.

The move follows the dismissal of officers linked to the fatal shooting in Effurun, Delta State, after the Police Service Commission ratified disciplinary action against them.

Force Public Relations Officer, Anthony Placid, disclosed this in Abuja on Sunday, describing the step as part of efforts to ensure justice and accountability.

He said the case has now moved from internal disciplinary measures to formal judicial proceedings, with the Police pledging to work with the Attorney General’s office for prosecution.

Placid added that ASP Nuhu and three other officers found culpable have been dismissed and remain in custody after investigations were concluded.

He stressed that all disciplinary processes have been completed, reaffirming the Force’s zero-tolerance policy on misconduct and commitment to restoring public trust.
