Falade Takes Charge in Ekiti, Prioritises Security and Human Rights

The newly appointed Commissioner of Police in Ekiti State, Michael Falade, has vowed to clamp down on criminal activities while promoting a community-focused approach to policing.

Speaking during his official resumption at the command headquarters in Ado Ekiti, Falade described his appointment as a major career milestone and pledged to prioritise the protection of lives and property through professionalism, integrity, and respect for human rights.

The police chief assured residents of a firm stance against crime, stressing that offenders would face the full weight of the law. He also emphasised intelligence-led policing, visibility patrols, and targeted operations as key strategies under his leadership.

Falade commended his predecessor, Joseph Eribo, for his contributions and pledged to build on the existing security framework.

He called on residents to support law enforcement with timely and credible information, noting that effective policing depends on public cooperation.

According to him, his administration will remain friendly to law-abiding citizens while maintaining zero tolerance for criminal elements, adding that collaboration with other security agencies will be strengthened to secure Ekiti’s borders and prevent infiltration.
