JAMB Debunks UTME Postponement Rumour, Warns Candidates

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board has dismissed a viral press release claiming the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination has been postponed, describing it as fake and malicious.

In a statement on Saturday, the board urged candidates to ignore the false notice, stressing that all UTME activities remain on schedule.

JAMB confirmed that the 2026 UTME will hold from April 16 to April 25 as earlier announced.

The clarification comes after the mock examination held on March 28, which recorded technical issues in some Computer-Based Test centres. Out of 224,597 registered candidates, 152,586 successfully sat for the test across 989 centres nationwide, while over 20 centres were delisted due to technical failures.

The board also warned candidates against fraudsters on WhatsApp promising score manipulation, noting that offenders risk disqualification or result cancellation.
