Bola Tinubu on Thursday consoled a grieving mother captured in a viral video clutching the body of her son after the recent attack in Jos.
During a condolence visit to Plateau State, the President addressed the woman by name, recalling the emotional footage and acknowledging her pain over the loss of her son, Ayuba.
He said only God could bring comfort in such circumstances, stressing that no amount of compensation could replace lives lost. Tinubu, however, assured affected families of the government’s support.
The President arrived in Jos following Sunday’s attack in the Angwan Rukuba area, where at least 27 people were killed. He was received by top officials, including Plateau State Governor Caleb Mutfwang and APC National Chairman Nentawe Yilwatda.
Earlier, Tinubu had condemned the Plateau killings and a separate attack in Kaduna State, describing the incidents as barbaric and vowing that those responsible would face justice.
He also warned against framing the violence along religious lines, cautioning that such narratives could worsen tensions.
