Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, and his deputy, Chief (Mrs) Monisade Afuye, on Tuesday received their Certificates of Return from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) following their victory in the June 20 governorship election.
The certificates were presented by INEC National Commissioner, Sam Olumekun, at the commission’s state office in Ado-Ekiti.

Oyebanji won the election with 319,224 votes, becoming the first governor in Ekiti State to secure two consecutive electoral mandates.

Speaking after receiving the certificate, the governor thanked Ekiti residents for renewing his mandate and pledged to deepen good governance, improve infrastructure, and enhance the welfare of the people.

He also commended INEC, security agencies, and voters for ensuring a peaceful and credible election, describing the victory as a collective mandate for the continued development of the state.
Olumekun praised the peaceful conduct of the election and reaffirmed INEC’s commitment to strengthening Nigeria’s democracy through credible polls.
