Marc Guehi scored his first goal for Manchester City F.C. as Pep Guardiola’s side defeated Salford City F.C. to extend their dominant home run in the FA Cup.
The England defender struck in the 81st minute at the Etihad, reacting quickest after a parried cross to calmly double City’s lead and secure progression.
Guehi, who previously featured in this season’s competition for Crystal Palace F.C., was eligible to play following a recent rule change by The Football Association allowing a player to represent one additional club in the same FA Cup campaign, provided they do not feature for two teams in the same round.

The win marked City’s 17th consecutive home victory in the FA Cup, a streak stretching back to a fourth-round defeat to Middlesbrough F.C. in 2015.
There were further positives for Guardiola, with John Stones making his first start since November and James Trafford impressing in goal ahead of next month’s EFL Cup Final against Arsenal F.C..
City now remain on course for a fourth consecutive FA Cup final appearance.
