
The Independent National Electoral Commission on Monday announced that 2,685,725 new voters have been captured in the ongoing Continuous Voter Registration exercise.
INEC’s update on X showed that 1,576,137 applicants completed online pre-registration, while 1,109,588 finalised physical enrolment.
Osun Tops the Table
Osun State leads the nationwide tally with 208,357 new registrants, followed by Kano (159,669), Sokoto (152,650), Imo (145,561), Borno (123,835), Lagos (123,484) and Jigawa (116,246).
Other notable figures include the FCT (106,855), Kogi (103,750) and Zamfara (101,511), while states such as Adamawa, Bayelsa, Bauchi, Gombe and Abia posted lower numbers.
Quarter One Ends December 10
INEC reiterated that the first quarter of the CVR will close on December 10, while the exercise remains suspended in Anambra due to electoral activities.
The CVR began on August 18, 2025, across the 774 LGAs and the FCT.
Register Display Starts December 15
In line with the Electoral Act 2022, the Register of Voters will be displayed for Claims and Objections from December 15–21.
Next Phase Begins January 5
The second phase of the registration exercise will resume on January 5, 2026.
