The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has accused President Bola Tinubu of worsening Nigeria’s economic and security challenges, saying the opposition would rescue the country from what it described as a dangerous path.
In a statement issued on Monday by its National Publicity Secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi, the party said rising hunger, insecurity and business failures had increased hardship across the country.
The ADC said inflation and soaring food prices had weakened household incomes, while insecurity continued to prevent many farmers from accessing their farmlands.
The party also cited reports projecting that about 34.7 million Nigerians could face severe food insecurity during the 2026 lean season.

According to the ADC, Nigerians are becoming frustrated over worsening living conditions and growing poverty despite government promises of economic recovery.
The opposition party criticised President Tinubu’s recent comments against the opposition, describing them as disconnected from the realities facing ordinary Nigerians.
The ADC also questioned the APC presidential primary result that returned Tinubu with 10.99 million votes ahead of the 2027 election.
The party described the figure as unbelievable in what it called a one-man contest, alleging that it could be an attempt to prepare Nigerians for election rigging ahead of 2027.
ADC maintained that Nigeria needed competent and compassionate leadership capable of improving the lives of citizens.
