Residents and members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oye-Ekiti turned out in large numbers on Monday for the party’s National Assembly primaries but were left stranded after election officials reportedly failed to appear in several wards.

Party members had gathered early at polling centres across the town to vote ahead of the 2027 general elections. However, the exercise was disrupted as officials were absent in multiple locations, sparking anger among supporters.

Former Ekiti State Governor, Segun Oni, said election officials did not appear at his ward in Ifaki-Ekiti and warned against announcing results from centres where no voting took place.

He insisted that results declared without accredited APC officials should be treated as invalid.
Meanwhile, Senator Ayo Arise alleged irregularities, intimidation, and manipulation during the exercise, describing it as a disappointing process.

Arise claimed election materials disappeared from areas where he was leading, only for results to later emerge from those centres.
At the time of filing this report, Arise reportedly secured 477 votes in Oye I, Ward 2, and 377 votes in Oye II, Ward 3, while incumbent lawmaker Cyril Fasuyi recorded one vote in Ward 3.
