APC Inaugurates 57-Man Campaign Council for Oyebanji Ahead of Ekiti 2026 Poll

The All Progressives Congress has inaugurated a 57-man campaign council to spearhead the re-election bid of Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, ahead of the June 20, 2026 governorship election.

At the inauguration held on Monday at the party’s secretariat in Ado-Ekiti, the governor urged party members to intensify grassroots mobilisation and adopt house-to-house engagement to secure at least 500,000 votes for the party.

Oyebanji thanked the Senate Leader, Opeyemi Bamidele, for accepting to chair the council, describing his commitment as a sign of determination to sustain the party’s leadership in the state.

He stressed that the party’s campaign would remain issue-based and peaceful, urging members to avoid violence and comply with electoral laws.

“We have not won the election until it is declared. Our target is nothing less than 500,000 votes, which has never happened in the history of this state,” the governor said, adding that the campaign strategy would focus on ward and unit-level mobilisation.

He also called on opposition parties to conduct their campaigns peacefully, noting that political ambitions should not lead to violence.

In his acceptance speech, Bamidele expressed appreciation to the party for the confidence reposed in him and pledged to lead the council to victory in the election.

According to him, the June 20 poll would serve as a referendum on the administration of Governor Oyebanji, whom he credited with providing inclusive leadership and advancing development in infrastructure, youth empowerment, agriculture and human capital development across the state.
