The Ekiti State House of Assembly has unveiled a new digital legislative chamber as part of activities marking its third anniversary in office.
The development underscores the Assembly’s commitment to technology-driven governance and improved service delivery.
Speaking during a special plenary session on Thursday, Speaker Rt. Hon. Adeoye Aribasoye said the 7th Assembly has introduced several innovations that have improved efficiency, transparency, and public participation in legislative activities.
A major highlight of the celebration was the launch of the EKHA App, a digital platform that allows citizens to follow proceedings in real time, access bills, and engage more closely with the legislative process.

Aribasoye said the Assembly has passed more than 33 laws in the last three years, covering key sectors such as healthcare, education, justice, local government administration, and economic development.
He also disclosed that the House has adopted 69 resolutions aimed at addressing issues related to security, youth development, agriculture, infrastructure, workers’ welfare, and community growth.
The Speaker noted that staff welfare has improved through promotions, training programmes, and enhanced access to loans. He added that Governor Biodun Oyebanji recently approved an additional ₦100 million to strengthen the Assembly’s housing and vehicle loan scheme.
Earlier, Governor Oyebanji signed two bills into law and commended the lawmakers for their vision, teamwork, and commitment to the development of Ekiti State.
Represented by Chief of Staff Oyeniyi Adebayo at the anniversary event, the Governor also praised the Assembly for supporting the administration’s Shared Prosperity agenda and embracing digital innovation.
Another highlight of the celebration was the emergence of Master Yusuf Qazeem Oluwafemi, a student of Government College, Ado-Ekiti, as a one-day Speaker after winning the maiden Legislative Arm Annual Quiz Competition.
The student presided over the House for ten minutes and urged lawmakers to remain accessible to the people, continue speaking for the voiceless, and help secure a brighter future for the next generation.
Stakeholders at the event commended the cordial relationship between the executive and legislative arms of government and praised the Assembly’s contributions to the state’s development.
Lawmakers also pledged to build on the achievements recorded over the last three years as the current Assembly enters the final year of its tenure.
