The Lagos State Government on Monday hosted Miss Etiyemonu Esther, winner of the 21st Lagos Spelling Bee Competition and One-Day Governor, at Lagos House, Marina.
In a video shared online, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu symbolically handed over his seat to Esther, marking the start of her one-day tenure.
Esther, a student of Lagos State Senior Model College, Igbokuta, clinched the title after emerging overall winner of the competition in December 2025.

Announcing the visit, Sanwo-Olu described her as confident, focused and hardworking, saying she represents the best of Lagos youth and expressing pride in her achievement.
She was accompanied by the One-Day Deputy Governor, Miss Awoyemi Dorcas, the One-Day Secretary to the State Government, Miss Salami Jumai Olaide, and their parents.
The governor also commended the initiative’s creator, Oluremi Tinubu, for sustaining a legacy that has produced several One-Day Governors in the state.
