President Bola Tinubu has condoled Super Eagles winger Samuel Chukwueze over the death of his mother, Mrs Sarah Chukwueze.
In a statement on Thursday by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the President described the loss as painful, noting that it came amid another recent tragedy in the Nigerian football community.

Tinubu said the death occurred just days after Super Eagles captain Wilfred Ndidi lost his father, Sunday Ndidi, in a road accident, describing the twin losses as deeply saddening for the national team.
“I mourn with them and stand with their families in prayers during this difficult time,” the President said.
He urged the Chukwueze family to find comfort in the memories and legacy of their late matriarch, while praying that God grants her eternal rest.
Mrs Chukwueze’s death marks a sombre period for the Super Eagles, following closely on the loss suffered by Ndidi’s family.
