Bayero University, Kano (BUK), has expelled at least 60 students from different departments over examination malpractice.
The decision was taken at the university’s 43rd statutory Senate meeting held on January 7, 2026, after a review of reports and recommendations from relevant academic and disciplinary committees.
The expulsions were announced in BUK’s official Weekly Bulletin published on Friday, with management confirming that the affected students were found guilty of violating the institution’s examination rules.
The university reaffirmed its zero-tolerance stance on examination misconduct, warning that strict sanctions would continue to apply to deter future violations, regardless of a student’s status or department.
BUK also recalled that in April 2025, it expelled 62 students and rusticated 17 others for similar offences.
