President Bola Tinubu has congratulated the Super Eagles on their bronze medal finish at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, describing the achievement as one that “feels good like gold.”
In a statement issued on Saturday by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the President praised the team for bouncing back from their semi-final defeat to host nation Morocco.
Tinubu said the Super Eagles once again demonstrated the determination, resilience and can-do spirit associated with Nigeria by overcoming Egypt in the third-place match, defeating the seven-time champions in a penalty shootout after dominating regulation time.
Despite the disappointment of missing out on the final, the President noted that the players remained undaunted, adding that their perseverance had now paid off.
He expressed pride in the team as they prepare to receive their bronze medals in Rabat, Morocco, thanking the players for making Nigerians proud.
