CAC Publishes List of 247 Business with Fake Registration Numbers

The Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) has released the names of 247 businesses allegedly making false claims about being registered with the commission.

The affected companies, with supposed registration dates ranging from 1973 to 2010, operate in sectors including real estate, oil and gas, construction, and investment services.

In a statement issued on Friday, Registrar General Hussaini Ishaq Magaji warned the public against engaging with such entities, noting that transactions with unregistered businesses could lead to fraud, legal disputes, and other risks.

The public is hereby advised to be informed of such misleading information and always verify company registration status only through the official CAC portal: www.cac.gov.ng,” the statement read.

The commission reaffirmed its commitment to promoting transparency and ensuring that only duly registered companies operate within Nigeria’s legal framework.
