The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and security agencies have expressed readiness for Saturday’s bye-election in Munya Local Government Area of Niger State.
Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) Ahmed Garki, speaking in Minna on Thursday while presenting sensitive materials to stakeholders at the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), said the process had been transparent, with the media fully involved.

“These materials have been checked and confirmed from the CBN. They are going straight to Munya Local Government,” Garki said.
He disclosed that over 500 ad-hoc personnel, alongside permanent staff, would be deployed, with BVAS machines fully charged, configured, and ready. Trainings for Supervisory Presiding Officers and Assistant Presiding Officers have been concluded.
Chairman of the Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC) in Niger, Bello Maikujeri, expressed satisfaction with INEC’s preparations, urging political parties to abide by the law to ensure a peaceful poll.

Niger State Commissioner of Police, CP Adamu Ellema, also assured of adequate security, saying personnel from conventional and sister agencies have been deployed.
“All materials will be protected until the election ends. Operational orders have been finalized and there will be no security breaches,” he stated.
The Munya bye-election will be held under tight security with participation from all stakeholders.
