British singer Ed Sheeran has opened up about feeling abandoned by friends and family amid the controversy surrounding rapper Macklemore and the ongoing debate over Palestine.
Sheeran made the remarks during his concert at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia, where he performed before a crowd of about 50,000 people.

Speaking about the controversy, Sheeran said the situation had made him reassess his career and the people around him.

“I’m feeling all of my friends and family and people I know abandon me,” he told the crowd.
The comments came after Macklemore was removed from the remaining dates of Sheeran’s U.S. tour following controversy surrounding the rapper’s outspoken support for Palestinians.
Sheeran has said he was not responsible for Macklemore’s removal, explaining that the decision was made by the tour promoter and venues.
He has also described the situation in Gaza as “catastrophic and unjustifiable.”
