Cody Gakpo and his partner have announced the heartbreaking stillbirth of their baby boy, Elijah Raphael Gakpo.
The couple shared the tragic news in emotional posts on social media, revealing that their son died before birth.
“With broken hearts, we share the devastating news that our baby boy passed away during pregnancy. Thank you for your love and support,” Gakpo’s partner wrote.
The couple also shared their son’s name, Elijah Raphael Gakpo, describing him as “Forever loved. Forever our son.”
Gakpo asked for privacy as the family mourns their loss.
“This is an incredibly difficult time for our family. We kindly ask for privacy and space. Thank you for your understanding,” the Liverpool and Netherlands forward said.
