President Bola Tinubu has inaugurated the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) zonal office in Ado Ekiti.
Represented by Vice President Kashim Shettima at the ceremony on Tuesday, Tinubu praised the anti-graft agency for its achievements in the fight against corruption and financial crimes.
The President said recent convictions secured by the EFCC, including those involving a former minister and a former bank chief, showed that corrupt individuals would be held accountable.

He also commended the agency’s efforts against cybercrime, citing the dismantling of a foreign-controlled cryptocurrency syndicate in Lagos that led to the conviction of 192 foreigners.
Tinubu said the commission’s work has strengthened economic reforms, improved investor confidence, and supported social programmes through recovered assets.
Ekiti State Governor Biodun Oyebanji said the state government provided land and other support for the project to strengthen the anti-corruption campaign.
EFCC Chairman Ola Olukoyede described the new office as a major step in bringing the commission’s services closer to the people of Ekiti and Ondo states.
He vowed that fraudsters would have no hiding place in the zone and called for public support in the fight against corruption.
