Tinubu Replaces Finance, Housing Ministers in Cabinet Reshuffle

President Bola Tinubu has approved a cabinet reshuffle in the Federal Executive Council. The move led to the removal of the Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister for the Economy, Wale Edun, and the Minister of Housing and Urban Development, Ahmed Dangiwa.

The development was confirmed in a statement issued on Tuesday by the Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Yomi Odunuga. The statement cited a memo signed by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, George Akume.

According to the memo, both ministers are to leave the cabinet with immediate effect. Their replacements have also been announced.

Edun has been directed to hand over to Taiwo Oyedele, who is now the Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy. He previously served as Minister of State in the ministry.

For the housing ministry, Muttaqha Rabe Darma has been named as ministerial nominee and minister-designate.

The memo stated that all handover processes must be completed on or before Thursday, April 23, 2026.
