Governor Caleb Mutfwang on Wednesday met with President Bola Tinubu at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, over the worsening security situation in Plateau State.
Mutfwang arrived at about 6:45pm, days after a deadly attack in Jos that left at least 27 people dead.
The meeting follows Tinubu’s earlier directive summoning the governor after the violence, including a separate attack in Kaduna State where wedding guests were killed and abducted.
The President had condemned the killings as “barbaric and cowardly,” while directing security agencies to go after the perpetrators.
He also warned against narratives suggesting religious motives, saying such claims could further inflame tensions.
Wednesday’s talks are expected to focus on urgent measures to curb the rising insecurity in Plateau.
