Troops of Operation ENDURING PEACE have neutralised several suspected terrorists, arrested a suspected gunrunner and recovered three locally fabricated rifles during separate operations in Plateau State.
The operations, conducted between June 26 and July 1 across Jos South, Barkin Ladi and Bokkos local government areas, were based on intelligence aimed at dismantling criminal networks.

According to the military, troops came under attack during a raid on a terrorist hideout at Gero Highground in Jos South but repelled the assault with reinforcements, forcing the suspects to flee. Some of the fleeing terrorists were neutralised during the operation.

Troops also intercepted a motorcycle carrying two passengers in Maijanki. The passengers abandoned a bag containing three locally made rifles and escaped, while the rider was arrested for questioning.

In another operation, five suspected terrorists were killed during an ambush in the Rafin Bauna/Gero mountains, while one more was neutralised after suspected terrorists attempted to infiltrate the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS), Kuru.
Operation ENDURING PEACE said it would sustain offensive operations to protect lives and deny criminal elements freedom of action across Plateau State.
