Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, on Saturday launched the Ekiti State Women Campaign ahead of the 2026 governorship election and announced a ₦100 million empowerment fund for women in the state.

Speaking at the campaign flag-off in Ado-Ekiti, Tinubu said 2,000 women would receive ₦50,000 each to support their businesses and improve their livelihoods.

During her visit, the First Lady also commissioned an ICT Centre at Ekiti State University under the Renewed Hope Initiative and met with traditional rulers.

She urged residents to continue supporting Governor Biodun Oyebanji and President Bola Tinubu, expressing confidence that ongoing economic reforms would deliver lasting benefits.

Governor Oyebanji thanked the President and the First Lady for their support to the state, while the Minister of Women Affairs, Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim, called on women to remain committed to the APC ahead of future elections.
