Senate Leader Opeyemi Bamidele has urged members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ekiti State to remain united ahead of the National Assembly primaries.
Bamidele spoke in Ado-Ekiti during a meeting with party stakeholders in Ekiti Central Senatorial District. He warned members against actions that could cause division within the party.
He said all aspirants would take part in the primaries scheduled for May 23, whether they emerge through consensus or direct primaries.

According to him, even consensus candidates must still go through a formal affirmation process in line with the Electoral Act.
“Everybody, including myself, will participate in the process,” he said.
Bamidele also advised aspirants who may not win tickets to remain loyal to the party. He said losing a primary should not be seen as failure.
“It may simply not be their time yet,” he added.

He dismissed concerns over opposition moves by the African Democratic Congress (ADC), saying the party had not made major progress in Ekiti.
Ekiti APC Chairman, Sola Eleshin, praised party members for maintaining peace in the district. He also assured aspirants of a fair process ahead of the primaries.

Secretary to the Ekiti State Government, Prof. Habibat Adubiaro, also called for unity among party members.
