Arsenal’s Quadruple Dream Ends as City Lift League Cup

Nico O’Reilly scored twice in quick succession to hand Manchester City a 2-0 victory over Arsenal and secure their ninth EFL Cup title.

The 21-year-old struck twice within four second-half minutes, first reacting quickest after Kepa Arrizabalaga spilled a cross from Rayan Cherki, before heading home from Matheus Nunes’ delivery.

The win keeps Pep Guardiola’s side on course for a domestic treble, while ending Arsenal’s hopes of a historic quadruple.

After the international break, City will host Liverpool in the FA Cup quarter-final on April 4, while Arsenal travel to Southampton. Mikel Arteta’s side will also face Sporting CP in the Champions League last eight.
