Anthony Joshua Knocks Out Jake Paul in Sixth Round in Miami

Former heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua delivered a dominant performance on Saturday, stopping YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul with a sixth-round knockout in their heavyweight bout in Miami.

Although Paul lasted longer than expected, Joshua’s power and experience proved decisive. The fight swung heavily in Joshua’s favour in the fifth round, when he dropped Paul twice, leaving the American visibly shaken.

Joshua sealed the victory early in the sixth round, unleashing a series of heavy punches before a crushing right hand sent Paul to the canvas, where he failed to beat the referee’s count.

The bout marked Joshua’s return after a 15-month layoff following his knockout loss to Daniel Dubois in September 2024. Despite the emphatic finish, Joshua admitted he was not fully satisfied with his performance.

After the fight, Joshua challenged fellow former heavyweight champion Tyson Fury, reigniting talk of a long-anticipated showdown.

Paul, who revealed he suffered a broken jaw and was taken to hospital, said he plans to continue boxing despite the defeat, which marked the second loss of his professional career.
