Two Arrested as NDLEA Uncovers 763kg of Skunk in Edo Operations

The Edo State Command of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency has arrested two suspects and seized 763kg of skunk cannabis in two pre-festive operations across the state.

State Commander Mitchell Ofoyeju said the first raid, carried out on December 2 at Agho Forest in Akoko Edo LGA, led to the interception of two Honda Accord cars transporting 447.5kg of compressed cannabis. One driver, Dada Adedara Babawibi, 56, was arrested, while the second suspect fled.

A separate raid on December 4 in Isiefve, Uhunwonde LGA, resulted in the arrest of Stanley Obasuwa, 36, and the seizure of 315.8kg of cannabis seeds from a warehouse.

Ofoyeju said investigations are ongoing and urged residents to support the agency with credible information. The command had earlier made similar arrests along the Benin–Akure Road in November.
