FEC Approves Residences for Judges, Water Projects in FCT

The Federal Executive Council (FEC) has approved the construction of official residences for heads of key federal courts and new water and infrastructure projects across the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, announced this after Thursday’s council meeting presided over by President Bola Tinubu at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

He said the approval covers residences for the President of the Court of Appeal, the President of the Industrial Court, the Chief Judge of the Federal High Court, and the Chief Judge of the FCT High Court.

Wike added that new water projects will serve satellite communities including Karu, Karshi, Orozo, and Bwari.

“This phase has been flagged off and should be completed by May next year,” he said.

The minister also confirmed the ratification of rehabilitation works at the Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Conference Centre and a new contract for engineering infrastructure in Maitama II District, covering 786 hectares of already allocated land.

“This is an ambitious project, and we’re determined to open up the district,” Wike stated.
