Adeleke Declared Winner of Osun Governorship Election

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared Governor Ademola Adeleke winner of the 2026 Osun State governorship election.

Adeleke, who contested on the platform of the Accord Party, polled 511,067 votes to defeat the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Bola Oyebamiji, who scored 444,815 votes.

Adeleke won by a margin of 66,252 votes.

The governor secured victory in 19 of the state’s 30 local government areas, while Oyebamiji won 11.

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) candidate, Najeem Salaam, came third with 17,180 votes.

The Returning Officer, Professor Joshua Olalekan Ogunwole, declared Adeleke the winner on Sunday after the final results from the 30 LGAs were collated.

The result means Adeleke has secured another four-year term as governor of Osun State.
