Abia Police Arrest Barber After Alleged Discovery of Pot Containing Customers’ Hair

The Abia State Police Command has arrested a barber identified simply as Emeka after a clay pot allegedly containing shaved human hair and other items suspected to be linked to ritual practices was discovered in his residence.

The suspect was reportedly apprehended after his neighbour, Johnson Ikenga, lodged a complaint with the police, alleging that the barber had threatened him.

Police officers who responded to the complaint subsequently searched Emeka’s one-room apartment, where they allegedly recovered a clay pot filled with what was believed to be human hair, along with other items considered suspicious.

During interrogation, Emeka reportedly admitted that the clay pot belonged to him but was unable to explain its purpose or give a satisfactory account of how the human hair came into his possession.

He is currently in police custody at the Central Police Station in Umuahia, while investigations into the matter continue.

The police have yet to officially determine the significance of the recovered items or announce any formal charges against the suspect.
