The lawmaker representing Ekiti South Federal Constituency I in the House of Representatives, Ojuawo Rufus Adeniyi, has expressed confidence that Governor Biodun Oyebanji will surpass the 500,000 votes target set for the June 20 governorship election.
Ojuawo spoke during Oyebanji’s campaign tour of Ekiti South Senatorial District, covering Ise/Orun, Emure and Ikere local government areas.
According to him, the large turnout recorded during the campaign reflected the love and trust Ekiti residents have for the governor, citing achievements in education, healthcare, youth empowerment and infrastructure.
“We know that the 500,000 votes he is asking for will come, and I am sure he is going to get even more than that,” he said.
Ojuawo also praised the governor’s consultation-driven leadership style and ongoing agricultural empowerment programme for youths.
In Emure-Ekiti, House of Representatives aspirant Oluwaseun Adeboyejo said residents were fully mobilised to support Oyebanji’s second-term ambition, assuring that the town alone would deliver over 5,000 votes.
Also speaking in Ikere-Ekiti, former Commissioner for Information, Olumuyiwa Olumilua, commended the governor’s developmental projects and political inclusiveness in the area.
