Governor, Ekiti State. Biodun Oyebanji

Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, has dissolved his cabinet ahead of his second term in office, retaining three key aides.

Those retained are the Secretary to the State Government, Professor Habibat Adubiaro; Chief of Staff, Oyeniyi Adebayo; and Chief Press Secretary, Olayinka Oyebode.

The governor announced the decision during a valedictory meeting with cabinet members at the Exco Chamber, Governor’s Office, Ado-Ekiti.

The meeting marked the end of the tenure of the outgoing State Executive Council after four years in office.

Oyebanji described the cabinet members as a formidable team and thanked them for their contributions to his administration’s policies and programmes.

He also expressed gratitude to God for the opportunity to serve the people of Ekiti State.

The governor assured the outgoing cabinet members that he would maintain contact with them despite the dissolution of the council.

In their separate remarks, the former cabinet members thanked Oyebanji for giving them the opportunity to serve the state.

The meeting featured prayers, praise songs, thanksgiving and the cutting of a valedictory cake.

Oyebanji, who won re-election in the June 20 governorship election, is scheduled to be sworn in for a second term on Friday, October 16, 2026.
