PDP Reconciliation Underway as Wike Welcomes Former Members Back

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has declared that the crisis within the Peoples Democratic Party is over, announcing that the party is now open to welcoming back former members.

Speaking in Abuja, Wike said the party had moved past its internal disputes and was focused on reconciliation and rebuilding ahead of future elections.

“The convention has come and gone. The crisis is over. The door is open,” he said, noting that several former members have already shown interest in returning.

He criticised the “do-or-die” approach to politics, describing it instead as a game where differences can be resolved.

Wike also urged aspirants to remain active, stressing that political relevance depends on visibility and hard work.

The PDP has faced a leadership crisis since 2025, raising concerns about its unity ahead of the 2027 elections.
