Ex-Foreign Affairs Minister Idi Hong Defects to APC in Adamawa

A former Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Idi Hong, has defected from the Peoples Democratic Party to the All Progressives Congress in Adamawa State.

Hong, who also served as Minister of State for Health, announced his decision on Saturday in Hong town after consultations with his political associates across the state. He said remaining in the PDP was no longer aligned with the aspirations of his supporters.

According to him, the move is aimed at advancing development in Adamawa and Nigeria, expressing confidence that the APC offers a stronger platform to realise his goals ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Party officials welcomed him into the APC, assuring him of equal rights and opportunities within the fold.
