Wike Denies Rift with Military, Clarifies Abuja Land Dispute

FCT Minister Nyesom Wike has denied claims of a rift with the Nigerian military, describing reports of a clash over a disputed Abuja land as “false and mischievous.”

Speaking to journalists on Thursday, Wike said the FCT Administration operates strictly by law and will not bow to intimidation.

“No one is above the law. Being a security aide doesn’t give you the right to act unlawfully,” he said.

Wike reaffirmed his respect for the Armed Forces, insisting his actions were not confrontational.

“If issues arise, they are handled institutionally, not through conflict,” he added.

He vowed to continue enforcing Abuja’s master plan and warned against land grabbing and illegal developments.

“Government cannot function in a lawless society. The law applies to everyone equally,” Wike said.

He also urged the media to report accurately and avoid sensationalism.
