Spotify to Roll Out Music Videos for Premium Users in U.S. and Canada

Audio streaming giant Spotify is set to introduce music videos for paying subscribers in the United States and Canada within the coming weeks, marking a major step in its expansion into video content.

A company spokesperson confirmed the development on Wednesday, noting that the Sweden-based platform, which currently focuses on audio and video podcasts will soon allow users to switch between audio-only and video modes while streaming songs.

Spotify revealed that over 390 million users have already watched video podcasts on the platform, underscoring its growing video audience.

“We’ll have more details to share soon,” the spokesperson said, adding that, as in other markets, the feature will be available exclusively to Premium users.

The move positions Spotify to compete directly with YouTube, which has dominated the music video streaming space for nearly two decades.
