Governor of Benue state, Hyacinth Alia has confirmed the killing of five persons in Ukum local government area as he reacts to the suspected herdsmen attacks on Sankera which the police Confirm Seventeen persons were killed.
Addressing journalists after Good Friday Mass at the Holy Ghost Paris Makurdi, Governor Alia caution against community resorting to self help, assuring them that the state government working with the office of the national security adviser, is developing a plan to end the killings by invaders who speaks foreign fulani dialect not known to the region.
The governor while condemning the attacks on Benue community, call on resident to be vigilant and volunteer information to help prevent attacks like the one in Ukum which would have been more devastating but for the timely information that led to promote security response.
