NDC Targets 45% Votes for Peter Obi as Alli Mobilises Ekiti North

The Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) in Ekiti State has set a target of 45 per cent of votes cast nationwide for its presidential candidate, Peter Obi, in the 2027 general elections.

The party disclosed this during a stakeholders’ meeting in Ido-Ekiti, Ekiti North Senatorial District, where its senatorial candidate, Prince Adeyinka Alli, met with party leaders and supporters.

An NDC chieftain, Oni Peter, said the party was mobilising Nigerians who want better leadership and governance.

He criticised the Nigerian economy, saying reported growth had not translated into improved living conditions for ordinary citizens.

“We cannot achieve anything without good leadership,” Oni said, explaining that this informed the party’s support for Obi.

The NDC Ekiti Chairman, Musa Arogundade, urged members to intensify grassroots mobilisation and take the party’s message to their homes and communities.

Alli, meanwhile, said Ekiti North needed stronger representation in the National Assembly.

He identified unemployment, poor infrastructure and inadequate support for traders and farmers as major challenges facing the district.

“Ekiti North is actually represented in the National Assembly, but the kind of representation we have is not the kind of representation that Ekiti North truly deserves. Our people need more,” Alli said.

He promised to remain accessible to constituents and provide regular updates on his activities if elected.

“I will be physical, I will be available and I will be heard. I will be the bridge for our people,” he added.

The NDC Women Leader in Ekiti, Bosede Daramola, also expressed confidence in the party’s chances in 2027, citing insecurity and food insecurity as major concerns for Nigerian voters.
