Rivers 2027: Blessing Fubara Pledges Four-Year Tenure if Elected

Ambassador Blessing Fubara Senior, brother of Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara, has declared his intention to contest the Rivers State governorship election under the Nigerian Democratic Congress, pledging to serve only one term if elected.

Speaking ahead of the party’s primary election, Fubara said Rivers State had lost opportunities, investments and dignity, promising to restore peace, stability and economic prosperity.

He also backed the state’s zoning arrangement, insisting that the Rivers South-East Senatorial District must complete its eight-year tenure.

Fubara called on supporters across the 23 local government areas to mobilise for the party’s primary election and urged his “elder brother” in the race to step down in support of the people’s movement to reclaim the state.
