The Airport Police Command has announced plans to honour fallen officers during the 2026 National Police Day, themed “Community Partnership: Building Trust.”
Police spokesperson, ASP Mohammed Adeola, said the event will also focus on strengthening public trust and engagement within the aviation community.
Activities will begin on March 30 with a sanitation exercise, followed by a walkathon on March 31 and public sensitisation on April 1. Families of deceased officers will be honoured with cheques on April 2.
The celebration will end with a grand finale on April 7 at Eagle Square, Abuja, featuring a parade and tactical displays.
Commissioner of Police, Ogunbode Olufunke, said the event will honour fallen heroes while promoting professionalism and community policing. She added that the initiative aligns with the vision of IGP Olatunji Disu to boost public confidence in the Nigeria Police Force.
