
The Police Service Commission, in partnership with the Nigeria Police Force, has announced the commencement of applications for the recruitment of Police Constables and Specialist personnel, following President Bola Tinubu’s directive to enlist 50,000 new officers to boost internal security and strengthen law enforcement capacity nationwide.
The recruitment portal will be open from December 15, 2025, to January 25, 2026, offering opportunities for both General Duty applicants and Specialists across multiple technical and operational fields.
Below is a clear breakdown of the application process:
1. Eligibility Requirements
Applicants must:
- Be Nigerian citizens by birth.
- Be physically and mentally fit.
- Be free from financial embarrassment.
- Possess good character with no criminal record.
- Fall within the approved age brackets:
- 18–25 years for General Duty.
- Up to 28 years for Specialists.
- Female applicants must not be pregnant during training.
Physical standards:
- General Duty males: Minimum height 1.67m, chest measurement 86cm.
- General Duty females: Minimum height 1.64m.
2. Educational Qualifications
- General Duty: At least five credits in SSCE/NECO, including English and Mathematics.
- Specialists: Minimum of four credits, plus relevant trade experience of at least three years and appropriate trade test certifications.

- SSCE/NECO result
- Birth certificate
- Certificate of State/LGA of origin
For Specialists:
- Trade Test Certificates
- Valid driver’s licence (for driver positions)
