Breaking: 38 Abducted Kwara Church Members Released After Five Days in Captivity

Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has announced the release of 38 members of Christ Apostolic Church (CAC) Oke-Isegun, Eruku, who were abducted during a Thanksgiving service five days ago.

In a statement issued Sunday by his Chief Press Secretary, Rafiu Ajakaiye, the governor credited the rescue to the direct intervention of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the coordinated efforts of security agencies. Details on how and where the congregation was freed remain unclear.

Governor AbdulRazaq said: “After many days of hard work by security forces and government representatives, I am excited to announce the freedom of the 38 abductees. This is wholly due to the hands-on approach of President Bola Tinubu, GCFR, who personally led efforts to secure their release.”

Recall that Gmart news reported that The President postponed his G20 trip to South Africa to oversee operations addressing security breaches in Kwara and Kebbi States, issuing directives for heightened security deployments.

The governor also expressed gratitude to the Office of the National Security Adviser, the Department of State Services (DSS), the Nigerian Army, the Nigerian Intelligence Agency, and the Nigeria Police, which deployed four new tactical teams to Kwara. Appreciation was extended to religious institutions, thought leaders, and the people of Kwara for their support during the crisis.
