Ex-Gov Segun Oni Commends Oyebanji’s Investment in Technology

Former Ekiti State Governor, Engr. Segun Oni, has commended Governor Biodun Oyebanji for his strong commitment to technology and human capital development, describing the effort as key to Ekiti’s long-term growth.

Speaking at the commissioning of a 250-capacity ICT Centre at the College of Nursing Sciences, Ekiti State University Teaching Hospital (EKSUTH), Ado-Ekiti, Oni said the initiative would boost digital learning and prepare students for global competitiveness.

He also praised the administration’s Smart School project, Ekiti Knowledge Zone, and Digital Hub, urging the institution to extend digital literacy training to alumni to strengthen the nursing profession.

Governor Oyebanji, in his remarks, credited President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s economic reforms for creating an enabling environment for development. He explained that the ICT centre reflects his administration’s focus on integrating technology into education and healthcare to bridge the gap between learning and modern practice.

Marking his third year in office, Oyebanji noted that over 10 roads, six renovated general hospitals, and more than 30 electrification projects have been completed across the state, adding that his government would sustain investments in infrastructure, education, health, and technology.

Commissioner for Health, Dr. Oyebanji Filani, said the reforms have reduced maternal and child mortality, while EKSUTH Chief Medical Director, Prof. Kayode Olabanji, commended the state’s digital transformation efforts in nursing education.
