Two people have been confirmed dead, and two others were rescued after a two-storey building collapsed in the Nomansland area of Fagge Local Government, Kano State.
The incident occurred around 2 a.m. on Thursday during a heavy downpour, causing the structure to cave in. Rescue efforts are ongoing as authorities assess the situation.
Reports indicate that the collapse was caused by the overflow of a nearby waterway. The building, situated close to the waterway, was severely affected by the flooding.
The Public Relations Officer of the Kano State Fire Service, Saminu Yusif Abdullahi, confirmed that two individuals have been rescued and taken to the hospital, while two others have been reported dead.
This incident comes shortly after the Kano State Emergency Management Agency reported that 31 people were killed and 5,280 houses destroyed by recent flooding in the state.
