THREE BUILDINGS ON FIRE IN IDUMOTA, LAGOS

Three buildings in Lagos caught fire on Wednesday in Idumota area of Lagos

The state fire and Rescue service confirmed the incident on its official X handle stating that the fire affected 2 buildings; a 2 story and another 3 story building 

A statement by the Director LSFRS, Margaret Adeseye says ”The Lagos State Fire And Rescue Service have been alerted to a fire emergency at the intersection of Nnamdi Azikiwe and Docemo in Idumota, Lagos state at about 7:41am, the call was received and emergency services swiftly mobilized 

“Upon arrival, it was discovered that the fire encompassed 3 buildings including two 2-storey building structure and one 3-Storey building. Currently Fire fighters efforts are underway at the scene 

“The fire station at Ebute Elefun, Ilupeju, and Alausa have deployed resources to mitigate the situation as firefighting operations is ongoing 

Adeseye added that the cause of the fire outbreak is yet to be confirmed 

“The cause of the fire is yet to be determined and investigations are ongoing. Casualties have not been confirmed at this time. We urge residents to cooperate with emergency personnels and avoid the area for their own safety”
