The Wives of Kebbi State Governor empowers 500 women and distributes Jamb for to 2500 students(PHOTOS)

The wife of Kebbi State Governor Hajiya Nafisa Nasir Idris has empowered women and youths who underwent three months training under her Foundation, in different skills, comprising tailoring, cosmetology, make up, shoe making and catering.

The graduation ceremony took place at the foundation’s secretariat in Birnin Kebbi.

In her address, the Wife of the Governor and founder NANAS foundation, Hajiya Nafisa Nasir Idris expressed delight over the successful completion of the training, calling on the graduands to use what they learnt as a means of improving their lives and their families, as well be self reliant so as to shun idleness and step down the knowledge to others and also commended the NANAS Chairman for a job well done.

She thanked her husband, the Kebbi State Governor, Dr Nasir Idris, for his support in improving the lives of the vulnerables in the State, calling on people to continue to support the government for more dividends of democracy.

Highlights of the event were cash donations of #30, 000 to graduands.

Similarly the Wife of the Kebbi state governor, Hajiya Zainab Nasir Idris has distributed free JAMB forms to over 2,500 students.

Majority of the beneficiaries are the less privileged, orphans and persons with disability drawn from the 21 local government area of the state, aspiring to write JAMB examination for admission into university .

At the Flag off ceremony in Birnin Kebbi, Hajiya Zainab Idris recalled that her husband, Governor Nasir Idris started such free form distribution to indigent students four years ago to afford them ample opportunity to pursue higher studies.

She was emphatic that the incumbent administration of her husband has placed premium on the development of the education sector and attainment of quality education.

The wife of the Governor represented by The Commissioner for Basic and Secondary Education Dr. Halima Muhammad Bande, advised students to strive with renewed vigour to pass their examinations at all levels, with emphasis on WAEC, NECO and JAMB, that would propel Kebbi state to take the first position in examinations nationwide.
