Ten persons have been confirmed Dead after a Dangote Truck with registeration number KMC 22 YQ loaded with cement and passenger lost control and rammed into a Volkswagen Saloon car with registeration number MNG 372 MG at Warsala Police checkpoint, A Borno-Yobe border community.
Confirming the incident, The Commander of The Federal Road Safety Corps in the State, Mr Livinus Yilzoom told journalists that the accident happened around 10.33AM Tuesday at a distance of about 30 Kilometers away from Damaturu the Yobe state capital.
According to him, The driver of the Volkswagen was the only person inside his car and he only sustained injuries. The other persons who died or sustained injuries were the Passengers on top of the cement in the truck which somersaulted and killed 10 persons while 12 others sustained injuries and are receiving medical attention” He said.
Mister Yilzoom further revealed, investigations into the root cause of the accident is ongoing however, suspected Over-speeding by the Dangote Truck as the major cause of the accident.
