The Ekiti State Police Command has apprehended one Kunle Ogunnusi for assaulting his four-year old kid.
This was contained in a statement made available to journalists by the Public Relations Officer of the command, DSP Sunday Abutu.
The statement reads, “On 14/08/2024 at about 13:00hrs, the Command received a credible tip-off that a man who was later identified as KUNLE OGUNNUSI of Rose Bud Area, Oke-Ila, Ado-Ekiti, was beating and inflicting serious injuries on his 4-year-old child.
“Operatives from Oke-lla Divisional Police Headquarters immediately swung into action, moved to the scene and arrested the suspect who was met in the act.
“During interrogation, the suspect confessed to the commission of the crime and said that his action was out of provocation over his son’s misbehavior.
“Further investigation revealed that the suspect is always in the habit of abusing his child by beating him with dangerous objects and inflicting injuries on him at any slight provocation.
“The Commissioner of Police, CP Akinwale kunle Adeniran, mni, while noting that the suspect will be arraigned accordingly, implores residents to promptly report to the Police any form of abuse especially on children and other criminal activities observed within their environs for immediate attention”.
